Teatro Metastasio di Prato - Contemporanea Festival 19

3 In a statement of some time ago it was argued that the contemporary is a temporal space that lies between the past and the future responding to the urgent needs of the present. I am convinced that this definition well represents the idea that has guided the birth and development of CONTEMPORANEA FESTIVAL in its various editions. A long process of transformation that over the years has allowed us to find a permeable balance between the project and the widespread community of reference. A cultural project integrated in the city, in dialogue with places and institutions, connected to international circuits and a structural part of the programming of Teatro Metastasio, perfectly in line with the historical vocation of this territory, almost as if to become a priority example, taken as a model. A festival as an aggregator of an idea of culture in constant movement that gathers artistic paths, national and international, from different disciplines, where the transversality of languages characterizes the compositional research and the methodologies of the vision. A complex action that does not stop at the simple proposal of the event, but builds over time an open idea of community capable of defending its achievements, step by step, acquisition by acquisition. I like to think of Contemporanea as a project deeply connected to the place where it was born, almost an instrument of the place; I like to observe how Contemporanea is an emanation of the experience of its community and how this relationship between place and event is based, in the end, on a relationship of logical reciprocity. CONTEMPORANEA FESTIVAL19 celebrates twenty years of history, an amazing result at the beginning of this long journey, perhaps even more important today given the progress of our times. This year the festival continues the reflection started in previous editions Living at the time of the collapse ; at the center of the project still a deep analysis that tends to examine all those creative processes that observe, analyze, translate the complexity of our time. In this new edition, the focus is mainly on women's thinking, their political vision of the world. We have entrusted their creative process with the task of accompanying us in the reading of a time and space that is sometimes untranslatable, because it is composed of new codes, far from stereotypes and cultural conditioning, a vision that opens our eyes to a different perspective of the future.
