Infinity è una serie di workshop che verranno realizzati negli spazi del Centro per l’arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci. I workshop sono dei veri e propri momenti performativi che infrangono la categoria 'pubblico di una mostra'. Ciascun workshop avrà un focus su una tematica specifica individuata dall’artista Jacopo Miliani in relazione alla decade degli anni ‘90. Per l’artista i Novanta rappresentano sia il personale periodo dell’adolescenza sia la nascita di un nuovo linguaggio che, attraverso la tecnologia e i mezzi di comunicazione, ha trasformato i processi relazionali e quelli espressivi. La diffusione di Internet, la Body-Art, i vocalist nelle discoteche, le serie televisive, l’inizio dei reality- show... gli anni Novanta ritornano come in una visione circolare del tempo, creando un linguaggio in continua ricerca della propria definizione. I workshop non sono strutturati come un’osservazione distaccata e un ripensamento di un periodo storico-culturale, ma saranno le dinamiche di pensiero collegabili a quella decade a entrare direttamente nel museo come 'materia viva' in grado di essere trasformata e ricontestualizzata costantemente. Infinity is a series of workshops curated by Jacopo Miliani (Florence, 1979) specifically created for the Lugi Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art. The workshops are real performative moments that break the category of 'exhibition audience', a reflection on how dance changes the way the museum is used and how at the same time you can create a community through dance. Each workshop will focus on a specific theme, identified by Miliani in relation to the decade of the nineties: for the artist the nineties represent both the personal period of adolescence, and the birth of a new language that, through technology and the media, has transformed the relational and expressive processes. The workshops are not structured as a detached observation and a rethinking of a cultural-historical period, but the dynamics of thought connected to that decade will enter directly into the museum as 'living matter', able to be constantly transformed and recontextualized.
